​Dear Full-Time Undergraduate Students,

In just a few weeks, campus will come to life as new and returning students arrive for the start of the academic year. Our campus arrival protocol will look a little different from last year, so please read on for important information for all full-time undergraduates, whether you live on or off campus. Information about Orientation is also included for new students.

You can find this and other "Whitworth Way Forward" information on the university's COVID-19 website. Any updates to these messages will be reflected online.

Whitworth Way Forward: Arriving on Campus

IMPORTANT DATES
  • Sept. 1-4: International Students Pre-Orientation
  • Sept 4: Residence hall move-in for new students. Halls open at 8:30 a.m. only for those students who are new to Whitworth. The dining hall will be open for breakfast. Check-in times at the residence halls are as follows:
    • Even number rooms: 8:30-11 a.m.
    • Odd number rooms: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 6: Move-in for returning students between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at your residence hall
  • Sept. 4-11: Orientation
  • Sept. 7: Advising/Registration Day                                                                                                                          
  • Sept. 8: Day and evening classes begin
ARRIVAL PROCESS

New students living on campus:
  • Students, family members and guests should wear masks inside buildings during Move-In Weekend and Orientation.
  • Students who have submitted a COVID-19 exemption or who have only had one dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series need to participate in COVID-19 testing taking place in the Hixson Union Building (HUB) on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Students should move into their buildings/rooms during their preassigned times (see times above).
  • Students need to check into Orientation at the HUB on Saturday, Sept. 4, to pick up their nametag, specific Orientation schedule, and other important information. 
  • Students who do not have approved COVID-19 vaccine/exemption documentation or who have not submitted valid measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and meningococcal ACWY dates (or the appropriate declination form) will not be able to participate in Orientation or move into their residence halls until they are in compliance.
Returning students living on campus:
  • Students, family members and guests should wear masks inside buildings during Move-In Weekend.
  • Students who have submitted a COVID-19 exemption or who only have one dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series need to participate in re-entry COVID-19 testing taking place in the HUB on Monday, Sept. 6, from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Students who are not able to attend the Sept. 6 re-entry testing must attend re-entry testing on Sept. 7 or 8 from 1-4:30 p.m. in Graves Gym (in the office on the left side of the foyer). Students who are unable to attend re-entry testing should contact the COVID Care Team at covidcareteam@whitworth.edu.​
  • Students who do not have approved COVID-19 vaccine/exemption documentation or who have not submitted valid measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and meningococcal ACWY dates (or the appropriate declination form) will not be able to move into their residence hall or attend in-person classes until this has been completed.
Students living off campus:
  • First-year students living off campus who do not have approved COVID-19 vaccine/exemption documentation or have not submitted valid measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and meningococcal ACWY dates (or the appropriate declination form) will not be approved to attend Orientation.
  • First-year students who have submitted a COVID-19 exemption or who only have one dose of a two-dose vaccine must attend COVID-19 testing taking place in the HUB from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.
  • Returning students living off campus who have submitted a COVID-19 exemption or who only have one dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series need to participate in re-entry COVID-19 testing taking place in the HUB on Monday, Sept. 6, from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Students who are not able to attend the Sept. 6 re-entry testing must attend re-entry testing on Sept. 7 or 8 from 1-4:30 p.m. in Graves Gym (in the office on the left side of the foyer).   • Students who do not have approved COVID-19 vaccine/exemption documentation or who have not submitted valid measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and meningococcal ACWY dates (or the appropriate declination form) will not be permitted to attend in-person classes until they are in compliance with the vaccination policies.
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
  • Orientation will take place Sept. 4-11. Please follow the Whitworth Office of Student Activities on Instagram (@whitworthorientation) or visit www.whitworth.edu/orientation for a schedule of activities and information.
  • As outlined above, Whitworth will be requiring COVID-19 vaccination or exemption forms. Students must have their forms completed and verified in order to participate in Orientation activities like the Back to School Concert and Bingo Night.   • All I.D. photos will need to be taken in person.
  • No virtual Orientation events will be held this fall.
